Rick Stein’s Sunset Cinema – FAQ’s
What is the format for the night?
The evenings will kick off at 7:30pm with a drinks reception and complimentary glass of fizz. From 8:00pm onwards you will be asked to make your way through to the cinema where you will be met by our Pop-Up Picture Company host who will provide you with your seat numbers.
The screening will begin at 8:30pm and will last for 2 – 2.5 hours depending on your film’s running time. During the first half of the film you will be served a delicious two-course meal. This will be served on our Pop-Up Picture Company trays to a low table in front of each two –person sofa. Roughly two thirds of the way through your film there will be a short 15-minute interval during which your interval drinks will be served to your seats and our Pop-Up Picture Company usherettes will offer you Tom Kerridge’s famous homemade ice cream. On certain nights, our bar will be open post-film with a live pianist for those who would like to continue the night!
What does the ticket price include?
On arrival you will be greeted with your glass of fizz or alternative beverage (beer, wine or soft drink). You will then enjoy a 2-course meal curated by Rick Stein served to your cinema seat followed by a tub of Tom Kerridge’s Hand & Flowers ice-cream during the interval. And of course, the film!
How do I get my tickets?
All tickets will be e-tickets. You will be sent your booking confirmation and e-ticket via email once you have successfully purchase your tickets online.
The lead booker must bring their e-ticket (either as a print out or on your phone) to show the Pop-Up Picture Company host on arrival.
All guests of the leader booker must provide the lead booker’s name on arrival at the drinks reception and groups must enter the main cinema area together where they will be allocated their seats.

Both venues will be accessible for wheelchair users including disabled parking (please look out for the marked disabled bays upon arrival). Please notify us on booking and as much details as you can on your specific requirements.
Carer tickets are free of charge and include a seat to watch the film but no food or drink – there is an option to upgrade to purchase the full package as listed above – this comes at a discounted rate of £50.
Bookings for over 10 guests are asked to call See Tickets on 08448588519 once tickets are on sale. Please provide them with your full name, address, contact number, venue and screening choice, and of course the quantity of tickets you wish to purchase. We will require all dietary requirements for your guests at the latest 10 days in advance of your screening.
For screenings at Cliveden House the maximum number of tickets per group booking will be 30. For screenings at Chewton Glen the maximum number of tickets per booking will be 40.
We will do our best to accommodate any special requests but we are limited due to the temporary nature of our set-up. Please email email@example.com and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
Whatever you wish!
Parental guidance ratings are provided for each film on our booking site. It is at the discretion of the lead booker as to whether they wish to permit guests below the suggested age to attend our screenings. However, due to the temporary nature of our set-up, young children and babies are not permitted.
We offer a vegetarian option at Rick Stein’s Sunset Cinema – this is listed on our schedule along with the main menus.
Due to our temporary nature of set-up we will not be able to accommodate all special dietary requirements, however please add details when prompted when booking your tickets and we will do our best to accommodate.
All meal choices and dietary requirements will need to be submitted no later than 10 days prior to your screening to enable the kitchen to prepare. All meal requests submitted after this deadline cannot be guaranteed. Please email requests to firstname.lastname@example.org and we will do our best to accommodate.
Can I change one of my dishes?
For both the starter and main courses you will be given the option to choose either the main fish/meat option or the vegetarian meal for each guest.
If you wish to amend your choices post-booking email email@example.com at least 10 days in advance of your screening.
We have a no-refund policy I’m afraid. If there is a specific issue then please email us on firstname.lastname@example.org and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Weather – what if it rains?
The show must go on! Our cinema area will be covered but we suggest guests bring an extra layer in case it gets a little chilly once the sun goes down. We go also provide some lovely warm blankets – one per sofa.
Is seating provided?
Yes, seating is arranged in rows of two-person sofas with a low table in front of each sofa for your food and beverages.
All seating is allocated in advance by the Pop-Up Picture Company staff.
Please note that if you are booking an un-even number of tickets one member of your party will be seated with an individual from another booking – we suggest you find another person to buddy up with!
Are dogs allowed?
Unfortunately, only registered guide dogs are permitted to attend the events.
Is smoking allowed?
There will be a smoking area based away from the cinema area.
Can I bring my own food or drink?
No – this is strictly prohibited.
Is there parking available?
There will be free parking at both the venues – at Chewton Glen it will be in the main hotel car park. For Cliveden House, please park along the Avenue in front of the Clock Tower Lawn, you will then be directed to the walled garden. Please note, you are unable to leave your vehicle overnight in the car park. Disabled Parking will be available, please look out for marked disabled bays upon arrival.
There will be toilets and disabled toilets at the event.
There is no opportunity for a VIP ticket or booking at Rick Stein’s Sunset Cinema
Will there be a bar?
Yes! This will be open on arrival at the drinks reception, however we would suggest topping up before the film starts as the bar will be closed during the film to avoid disturbing the experience for others. You will also be provided with an interval drinks form on arrival. You will need to fill this form in for your group and pre-pay for your internal drinks. These drinks will then be served to your table during the interval.
Can I stay the night in one of these locations?
